  Mentoring Moment:
" I know of no more encouraging fact than the unquestionable ability of man to elevate his life by conscious effort." - Henry David Thoreau
Bio Brief:

Deborah  Guy Skriloff is an Certified Facilitator, Trainer, Life Coach and transitions expert. She is the former managing director of the corporately sponsored Courage to Succeed Mentoring Program with Junior High school partnerships in New York City, Denver and Charlotte.  Focused on developing financial skills, character development and mentorship relationships, this program has been strongly embraced and has recently celebrated it's 15 year anniversary.

She has lead skills development workshops and programs locally and regionally for many  years and has spearheaded the reorganization and retraining of entire service departments to better serve evolving customer needs and expectations.

Raising her children, serving the business community
After taking several years off from the corporate arena to raise her young family, and with a desire to work with local businesses, she created Crossing|Bridges|Coaching  in 2005, to support small business owners and private sector individuals in taking their businesses and/or lives and relationships to the next level through customized personal and interpersonal skills development.

Understands the needs of today's businesses
She also understands the need for organizations in the Hudson Valley to thrive and to do more with less in this turbulent time.  As a Franklin Covey certified facilitator she brings the highly acclaimed 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and 7 habits of Highly Effective Teens to the Workforce Development Programs, members and membership alliances of the  Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce.

She lives in the beautiful mid-hudson valley area with her dandy husband Michael, their three amazing and delightful daughters and the family dog.

Extended Bio:

She currently serves as President of the Young Women’s Organization in her church community, a responsibility she’s had the honor of fulfilling twice before in the Midwood and Dyker Heights sections of Brooklyn, New York.

She is a Merit Badge Counselor for Citizenship in the Community for the Boy Scouts, an Ambassador for the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce and co-chair of the Chamber's Education Committee.

Fear Mastery Coach and Education Advocate
In addition to her work in the business sector, for several years she got to work with teenagers who made their living and their home on the streets of Times Square and often eventually the prisons.  Several years later she got to travel alongside and support birth mothers on their journey, as they prepared for and placed a child or children with an adoptive family. During these times she witnessed over and over again the devastating effects of fear, in the absence of education and support, and became an advocate for both, becomming certified as a fear mastery coach and educator in 2007.

A Very Proud Moment
Though she has received various accolades and awards for her work in the corporate and community arena, she has recently learned, that she was voted the "Best Bedtime Story Teller in the World' by a group of 7-10 year old slumber party experts.  Next to raising her three daughters, and being a supportive companion to her husband, she honestly can't think of anything that has made her feel more accomplished.

"My personal life is now happy and contented.  My professional life is reinvigorated – my energy, drive, and creativity is restored. I am again performing at a superior level.

"My participation in the programs of Crossing Bridges Coaching, and specifically the professional expertise of Deborah is directly responsible for that turnaround.  This is not psycho-therapy.  This is not “feel good” counseling either.  This is the application of proven methodologies, practices and approaches toward finding the way to success in all aspects of one's life.  [It] supports accomplishing ones goals both personally and professionally.  And it works. I’m proof."

I want to thank you. My life has changed so much in the last 6 months. I'm a much happier person, I don't doubt myself like before.  I'm not playing the victim anymore. I now have a very positive outlook on life and what I want out of it. My husband shows me so much more love and understanding now that I'm happier with myself. I would love for everyone to feel how wonderful it is to live with less fear in their lives. Thank you Deborah!"
